  Allamanda Quilters Special Notices

Minutes, March 8, 2011 Meeting
Paula Mooney called the meeting to order.
The Treasurer gave the monthly report.  Meeting minutes from the February business meeting have been emailed to the members and filed.

Vice President Sharon M. told the group that there are openings in the following classes:
     5/18 Crazy Quilt Vest
     5/19 Bargello Twisted
5/3 and 5/17 Stack and Whack (This is an Allamanda-only class and is being taught by Dale Angione.)

Information about a bus trip to Paducah scheduled for 10/16-22 is posted on our bulletin board.  This trip is not sponsored by The Villages.

All ordered Allamanda quilters shirts are in (Sharon M. has them).  Marlene also has the sewing machine lights that were ordered.  She is still taking orders if anyone else would like to purchase one (light: $24.17; with extra bracket: $32).

Community Service:  "Quilts for Kids" (See Dee D. for criteria and patterns).  A motion was made and approved to use our Allamanda chapter's proceeds from the Quilt Show to support our charity quilts.

Reminder:  We have limited storage space at Allamanda and we cannot store fabric here.

Old Business:  We are responsible for the June Guild meeting.  At the April meeting, we'll take names for 8 helpers to work the desk and man the 50-50.

Trash to Treasure:  If anything is left over in the box at the end of the meeting, it will be trashed.  We have no storage room.

2013 Villages Guild Quilt Show:
Everyone had the chance to vote on their first three choices on what we would like to take responsibility for in preparation for the 2013 Villages Guild Quilt Show.  Paula described the requirements of each job so that we had a good idea of what we would be doing.  Our decision was as follows:
    1st choice: Judging day
    2nd choice: Angels
    3rd choice: Tickets
Although these are our choices we may not get any of them and could very well be assigned a different task.  We just have to wait and see.

The 2012 Allamanda Retreat will be held February 21-23.  Monique has the sign-up sheets.  If you are going to sign up, please fill out a form and give Monique a deposit check for $50.  Double rooms will cost $165.

If you're interested, Paula Mooney may be having a yard sale on Monday with lots and lots of sewing "stuff."  She'll send out an email to verify date and time.

Show and Tell followed the business part of the meeting and lots of beautiful quilts were shown.
